กรณีนี้มี 2 ค่าย เสนอการใช้ตัวย่อ ดังนี้
1. ค่ายราชบัณฑิตยสถาน (ชื่อในสมัยก่อน) ให้ใช้ ภกญ.
2. ค่ายสภาเภสัชกรรม ไม่ชอบตัวย่อแบบราชบัณฑิตสถาน ในการประชุมครั้งที่ 130 (1/2549) วันที่ 13 ม.ค.2549 เห็นชอบให้ใช้ ภญ. ได้
